In the process of making an AutoCAD drawing a lot of entities are made but also a lot are erased. By erasing the entities you don't need any more you keep your drawing clean. When a drawing is set up with closed polylines and the open linear entities aren't required any longer you can run 'Erase Open polyline Remains'. The command allows you to select lines, arcs and polylines. Once the selection is confirmed the command will check each entity and will erase the ones that aren't close. That means by definition lines and arcs are erased. Every polyline is checked whether it is closed or not. When it is not it will be erased as well so it only leaves closed polylines. So it's an easy tool to keep your drawing clean.
